there once was

in chronological order:
1. night after our first service when we attempted to get the wifi password (opps), but we failed so we decided to just hang around and watch the huge moon from the dining area, where the air was incredibly still and warm.

3. faith and delia before night service on the second day
4. when the four of us decided to sit together for night service
5. this is hannah, we took this as i was cutting a queue for dinner (thx vanessa)
6. hannah and zann as they queued with me (i like this a lot btw)
7. then rachel came by and i grabbed her to take a photo with me
8. this is jessie/after our third night service when lights out was slightly later and we decided to play cards at the dining area. i also have to say that we fostered millions of different emotion re: pre-camp bc we were expecting to be in the same group but were later told we were in different groups, then we hoped so badly to be roommates, and when i asked matthew if we were roommates he decided to not reply me... but thank God we ended up in the same room anyway, that moment of finding out was so incredible i nearly screamed in a crowd of strangers.

10. another roommate, also we both think we're long lost sisters bc we're similar in so so so many ways. still remember when jessie was using the bathroom then she said 'should we play some music' so i nodded and asked 'what do you listen to?', to which she replied yellowcard and a few others which i cannot remember. then i asked 'mayday parade?' and she replied 'yes!!!' ecstatically before we found out that we enjoy many other similar bands. we conversed in mayday parade lyrics for the next few days: when jessie said she wanted to sleep, i said 'but no one remembers the nights they got lots of sleep' and claud said 'and this is the last night, before too long you'll be a memorrrrryyyyyy'. when we broke camp i tweeted them 'oh can't you tell i haven't slept very well since the last time that we spoke' and claud replied 'sleep well goodnight, you're something to remember, i wish that you were here by my side'. i think this looks like a mess of conversations but i really want to remember all of them, and i miss both jessie and claud so incredibly much that i can't listen to a mayday parade song without thinking about them

this camp was so much more than what i can possibly write here, so i'm only leaving this space with all that can be physically seen. the rest have already been imprinted, pen on paper, in language
